So what makes a song from this era important? I could argue that all songs are sublime compositions or that the videos are ground breaking, but it wouldn't be true. Closer to the truth would be: "because I think so".

The Cure - Close To Me

Year: 1985



With this ingenious video where the Cure is cramped up inside a closet, I took this band to my heart. Unfortunately some years later than they deserved. Some twenty years later Robert Smith still wears makeup but should have listened to his stylist who (hopefully) adviced against that.
