So what makes a song from this era important? I could argue that all songs are sublime compositions or that the videos are ground breaking, but it wouldn't be true. Closer to the truth would be: "because I think so".

Simple Minds - Don't You (Forget About Me)

Year: 1985



Do you remember this song? Of course you do. At least if you are over 25, and there is even a good chance that you might know it if you are under that age too. Simple Minds had a huge success with it in -85, much thanks to it being featured in the movie Breakfast Club. I remember that I thought that Simple Minds was a sell-out due to this, but at the same time I loved the song and all it represented for a teenager.
