So what makes a song from this era important? I could argue that all songs are sublime compositions or that the videos are ground breaking, but it wouldn't be true. Closer to the truth would be: "because I think so".

Joy Division - She's Lost Control

Year: 1979



By popular request, here is a song from the more or less iconized british group Joy Division. In my opinion this is their best song although Love Will Tear Us Apart may be more well-known. That song was forever ruined by Paul Young's awful remake of it. Once again, Joy Division is in focus due to the film about the singer, Ian Curtis, by Anton Corbijn.
