So what makes a song from this era important? I could argue that all songs are sublime compositions or that the videos are ground breaking, but it wouldn't be true. Closer to the truth would be: "because I think so".

The Bangles - Walk like an Egyptian

It was a long time since I last saw this rather cute video by The Bangles, where appearently random people in New York city show off their Egyptian-walking abilities. Susanna Hoffs wields her guitar with sexy confidence. Classic.
