So what makes a song from this era important? I could argue that all songs are sublime compositions or that the videos are ground breaking, but it wouldn't be true. Closer to the truth would be: "because I think so".

The Assembly - Never Never

Year: 1983



The Assembly never made it big time. As far as I know, this song was the only big hit they had. Feargal Shearkey (damn, that's a difficult name) had the most fragile and characteristic voice. It suited the frail synth background perfectly. The upside-down camera glide in the end of the video was puzzling me for years. How did they shoot it?
